Having explored many areas of photography I’ve found my connection with the stunning landscapes of New Zealand , and its dark night skies. Its this connection that gives me my passion for getting out at any time of day or night, often in freezing conditions with long trips in the dark to places people often don’t ever see, or at least at the hours I am there.
For me its all about conveying emotion. Trying to put across the feeling of being there. About making a connection between myself, the landscape and the viewer with just one image. Its all about sharing passion for natures outstanding beauty. This takes time and effort to find the right locations, the right times of year and conditions. Often going back to the same spot time and time again.
I’ve exhibited some work here and there and won a few prizes for my work, including New Zealand Geographic photographer of the year 2011 Landscape category with a classic early morning Hagley Park shot..
I am available for commissioned work, tuition, workshops and often lead photography adventures with One Of A Kind photography Adventures, an awesome group of people and amazing trips!
